History of thin laptop. 2

Many of companies think that a small laptop with a good performance is expected. Many of them try their best to increase their technologies in producing laptop.

Normally, laptop company design a laptop is based to the CPU manufacture company’s technology document.

The project of a laptop in document which CPU Company like Intel offered is considered for performance and cost. So the cost will not very high. Because of the technology, the main board of laptop is big. So the laptop is hard to decrease the size.

SONY X505 launched in 2004, known at the time of a "world's thinnest" notebook, "X"  means "eXtreme". X505's thinnest part is 9.7MM, thickest part is 21MM, an average of 15.5MM. Weighs only 835g, the size is 259 * 208MM. Weigh in hardly believe their hands are holding a laptop, even X505 has been described by Notepad by user and it's light.
 

In order to create such a light notebook , Sony is indeed working on the external spent a lot of effort. In addition to internal magnesium AL material is used, the external materials used is a carbon fiber .Not only greatly reduce the weight but also very strong. Moreover, this carbon fiber material in high temperature performance is also very good. Such as aircraft and rocket mounted panels are using this material.
